Summer Camp - Afternoon Session - Ages 9-12

This session is the afternoon session 1:00 PM–4:00 PM for ages 9-12.

La Mesa Bootcamp is a fun, hands-on kids camp designed to spark creativity while giving children a sampling of the different classes we offer—tailored specifically at a kid-friendly level. It’s the perfect way for young creators to explore new interests, try a variety of mediums, and build confidence in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Running June 15–18, each day features a unique theme. Half the time together will be led by a La Mesa Instructor, while the half will be led by one of our Spotlight Teachers!

Monday will be centered around clay! Adri Jordan of ASH Studio will join us to teach different techniques of painting pre-fired bisque ware. Tuesday's theme is painting and color, where artist, Deanna Steinle of The Art of Rib, will join us for a watercolor workshop. Wednesday will focus on fiber art with Ashley Crowe of Arrow to Arrow, learning how to macramé. Lastly, on Friday, we will focus on culinary creations with Sarah Smith of The Cookie Craze.

Campers will rotate through engaging, age-appropriate projects designed to introduce them to each creative area in a fun and approachable way. La Mesa activities will include a clay making activity (earrings or keychain), textured acrylic painting, kid-friendly needlepoint, and simple cupcake decorating. Each activity will be geared to the appropriate age group

Following the online sign-up, you will receive another email within 48-72 hours of registration to follow-up with the remaining registration forms needed.
